Dressage in Atonic World is a new composition by Natasha Anderson, recipient of the Sound Gallery commission 2021. Using electroacoustic contrabass recorder, animated avatars and morphing electronics, this piece seeks to stage a flailing foothold in an atonic world of digital analogicity.
A music about digital space, an analogy of subjectivity, a cartoon of meshy rhythm points. From rhetorical gestures to quantum multiplicities, Dressage in Atonic World foolishly, cartoonishly asks, what does it sound like to disentangle the digital from technology and play it alongside the analogue?
