Gintaute Gataveckaite explores three formidable contemporary female composers and pianists from Australia and America, presenting a diverse and exhilarating program of compelling and evocative piano compositions.
Gintaute Gataveckaite is an award-winning Lithuanian pianist. A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and the University of Melbourne, Gintaute performs regularly throughout Australia, the U.K., Europe, and China. Highlights include performances at the Wigmore Hall and the Southbank Centre in London, Melbourne Recital Centre, and many more.
As a performing artist, Gintaute’s daily objective is to explore the technical, expressive and sonic capabilities of the piano while expanding her diverse repertoire. She gains much inspiration from her other passions in life which include travel, photography, visiting art galleries, and exploring the city and the great outdoors. Sharing music with an audience forms an essential part of her life.
Gintaute will perform a selection of Elena Kats-Chernin’s most popular and beautiful compositions, along with the powerful Suite for Piano Op.41a by American composer Lera Auerbach. She will also perform Linda Kouvaras’ reflective Bundanon Suite.
