Past Event

Guzheng performer and composer Mindy Meng Wang joins forces with multi ARIA-award winning jazz composer and pianist Paul Grabowsky for a special collaboration in the David Li Sound Gallery.

Chinese/Australian performer Mindy Meng Wang has been recognised as a leader in modern Guzheng music. She has pioneered the use of the Guzheng in western genres, introducing the instrument to jazz and classical styles, as well as experimental music and improvisation. Her work explores the fertile space between traditional and contemporary practices, and she is part of a significant movement of Chinese musicians redefining and reinvigorating their musical tradition.

Mindy and Paul had the opportunity to work together for the first time earlier in 2021 and are very excited to be able to perform together for you again.
