Be part of the opening festivities for Progress Festival!

This year our festival theme is ‘connectivity’ and the opening evening gives particular focus to First Nations’ approaches to connectivity, where the idea of interconnected nature, life and spirit offers new paradigms.

Join us for a Welcome to Country from Aunty Carolyn Briggs and Smoking Ceremony in the garden of the William Cooper Institute. Followed by drinks inside The Count’s, with a delicious dinner menu available if you’re peckish. There’ll be plenty of ideas and discussion from an inspiring lineup of First Nations speakers, presented in partnership with Monash University’s William Cooper Institute.

Ticket price includes a wine, beer or soft drink from the bar.

Progress Festival 2023 explores ‘connectivity’ through a five day program packed with music, art, theatre, dance and talks.

Today’s highly connected world offers huge advantages, from greater collaboration and access to a global workforce, to revolutionising education and shared insight. But it also exposes us to many costs, from loss of privacy, the challenges of social media, or censorious firewalls, to a global financial system so interwoven that when one part of it falls, dominoes around the world quickly follow.
