Songs are magical things; some fall suddenly from the ether, others are a slow labour of love. All songwriters say it. Everyone has heard it. Universally, they’re inspired from personal experiences and observations of life and human nature.
Aria-charting band leader, musician and musical director Delsinki’s specialty is bringing musicians and audiences together for special, unpredictable nights of storytelling and song-swapping.
Delsinki presents Sing a Song of Sixpence, which brings the tradition of a writer’s round to audiences. Artists share the bare bones of their songs and the stories behind them. In an intimate and informal setting, it becomes poignant, and unpredictable. Audiences get an insight into the process and the magic, and feel closer to the songs as a result. A unique and entertaining heartfelt experience, with some of Australia’s finest accompanying musicians sitting in on the show as well.
Join Delsinki, Kylie Auldist, Steve Gates, Indyana, Violet Jean and James Macaulay for a wonderful night of song as the Count’s transforms into the round for this special performance as part of MPAC’s Progress Festival.
