Star Weavers

Monash University Clayton Campus

Past Event

Join the Slow Art Collective and help to create the Star Weavers installation - a magical structure of colour, touch and sound - at Family Fiesta!

Together we will weave the walls of the bamboo star structure, draw constellations with yarn on the drawing walls and play the spatialised tone bells to create an inclusive, improvised environment of sensory collaboration.

Slow Art Collective is helmed by artists Chaco Kato and Dylan Martorell, who invite collaborators to join them for individual projects.

Since 2009 Slow Art Collective has undertaken a range of projects that address the crossovers between artistic practice, creative sustainability and individual responsibility. Recently commissioned projects include Tokyo Biennale, TarraWarra Museum of Arts, McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery, Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Powerhouse Museum, Mpavillion (Royal Melbourne Botanic Garden, Monash University and Dockland), Melbourne Now at the NGV, Gertrude Contemporary and Esplanade Singapore.

An event for all ages, cultures and abilities.
