An interactive and lively session exploring Boonwurrung culture, dance, language, spirit and traditions with Jaeden Williams‑Briggs from Biik Bundjil.
Jaeden brings ancient tales to life through movement and storytelling, creating a powerful and engaging experience for children and families that inspires connection, understanding and respect.
Jaeden is a proud Yalukit Willam man of the Boonwurrung and the founder of Biik Bundjil, an organisation focused on embedding Boonwurrung culture and practices into schools and workplaces. As a creative producer and storyteller, Jaeden bridges cultural gaps, using the power of narrative to honour and evolve Boonwurrung heritage. His work blends ancient wisdom with contemporary storytelling to inspire deeper connections to land, culture, and community.
Wet Weather Notice
For Saturday 4 July: Sessions will run at 11am and 1pm inside at The Count’s.
Please note that these free dance and storytime sessions are usually held outdoors in the William Cooper Institute Garden.
In the event of wet weather or other adverse conditions, sessions will be relocated to The Count’s wherever possible. If conditions make it unsafe or impractical to proceed, sessions may be cancelled.
A range of other free activities will continue to operate indoors in the IPAC foyer.
Family Fiesta, Forest
Part of Family Fiesta 1–4 July. MPAC invites children 0–12 and their families to step into the forest and discover a world of free and affordable events. Explore ancient trees, fungi and the hidden micro-world beneath your feet, and see how everything in the forest is connected. Artists, theatre-makers, musicians and dancers team up with scientists to show you just how wondrous and essential these ecosystems are.
