Step into a compelling classical dance drama that brings to life the ten divine incarnations of Lord Vishnu, interweaving mythology, science, and the enduring essence of dharma (righteousness).
Dashavataram: Transcending Ten offers a thoughtful retelling of evolution, through the lens of ancient narratives and contemporary ideas. This production features an ensemble of over 100 all-female performers from Prakalpa Samskruti, aged 4 to 50 from South Asian backgrounds, showcasing four Indian dance styles, including three classical forms.
With compositions by six Indian composers across six languages, the performance celebrates India’s vibrant linguistic and cultural diversity. While the dance pieces are rooted in regional languages, the overarching narrative will be presented primarily in English, ensuring broader accessibility.
This classical presentation also embraces experimental elements, fusing Eastern and Western classical traditions—inviting audiences into a unique exploration of form and philosophy, tradition and transformation, through the stories of the divine avatars.
