Fierce, femme and fabulous, the multi-award winning Mama Alto is a jazz singer, cabaret artiste and gender transcendent diva best known for her velvet vocals and spellbinding storytelling through song. She is a transgender and queer person of colour who works with the radical potential of storytelling, strength in softness and power in vulnerability.
Mama Alto has performed with legendary burlesque production house Finucane & Smith, was a featured soloist in Taylor Mac’s “24 Decade History of Popular Music” at Melbourne Festival 2017, and is the co-creator of the highly acclaimed variety cabaret “Gender Euphoria” Australia’s largest ever trans & gender diverse main stage production which premiered at Arts Centre Melbourne. Recently she was awarded the Australia Council Kirk Robson Award for Community Arts and Cultural Development.
