Panorama Brasil

The Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts

$15 - $29

Past Event

Panorama Brasil bring their infectious rhythms, deft improvisation and formidable grooves to The Count’s. Featuring Jacqueline Gawler on vocals, Panorama Brasil deliver a tour-de-force of Brazil’s best-loved samba, bossa nova, MPB and Brazilian jazz repertoire in a super-charged setlist of their favourite repertoire.

Panorama Brasil draws on the diverse musical landscape of Brazil: music from the bars and clubs of Rio, from the streets of Salvador, and from Brazil’s rich folkloric history. Based in Melbourne Australia, Panorama Brasil is equally at home in jazz clubs, concert halls and street festivals, and has performed at major events including the 2024 Melbourne International Jazz Festival at Hamer Hall, the Adelaide Cabaret Festival at Adelaide Festival Centre and Stonnington Jazz Festival.

‘Effortlessly fluid vocals…’ – Jessica Nicholas, The Age

‘The band launched straight into the heady syncopations of the maracatu from Recife, transporting us immediately into the alternative reality of a wild, intensely colourful carnival, about as far removed from Adelaide in winter as you can get.’ – Stephen Wittington, Adelaide Advertiser

Featuring:
Jacqueline Gawler (voice)
Matt Boden (piano)
Yael Zamir (flute)
Jorge Albuquerque (bass)
Alastair Kerr (drums/percussion)
