Past Event
At Glen Waverley Primary School, our biennial stage production is one the most highlighted events on the calendar.
It's also a tremendous opportunity every two years to showcase and promote the talent and professionalism of our students.
This year, we are once again staging a whole school, full-scale show, in which all students from all year levels will participate. This year’s theme is ‘Twenty-Four Character Strengths’ and how they may be shared with or hidden from those around us. The theme aligns closely with our school’s purpose, to develop individuals who:
· Learn about themselves and the world around them.
· Grow to become effective members of the community now and in the future.
· Achieve personal fulfilment and a love of lifelong learning.
Coordinated by the school’s Performing Arts teacher Mr. Ben Clark, our students and staff work together collaboratively to develop a high-quality performance incorporating the school’s guiding statements. Not only are the students the performers in the show but they also contribute to the celebration as principal actors/dancers, crew work backstage, art/set design, costuming, make-up, props and much, much more!
The production also strengthens our relationships within the school community. Many families, staff members and community members are involved in collaboration with all aspects of preparation for the big show. The production also complements our school’s curriculum including and beyond Performing Arts, as it allows the students to heighten their creativity, confidence, teamwork, and communication skills, which are all essential qualities that students needed for success within school and beyond.
