Melbourne Cabaret Festival Roadshow: Live at The Count's

MPAC unites with Melbourne Cabaret Festival to present Australia's best cabaret talent across five shows in The Count’s this October. The limited season includes drag, jazz, comedy and pop performances.

Feast on a smorgasbord of exquisite cabaret shows, curated by the long-running Melbourne Cabaret Festival. Each show opens with emerging cabaret talent thanks to the Ron and Margaret Dobell Foundation. Nestled in the heart of Monash University’s Clayton campus, The Count’s transforms into a cosy cabaret room with full bar with dinner service available.

Step into the whimsical world of laughter and music with “Get It Together” – a one-man comedic extravaganza that promises to tickle your funny bone and tug at your heartstrings. Fresh from celebrated seasons at the Melbourne Cabaret Festival and The Butterfly Club, Alister Kingsley brings his unique blend of wit and melody to the stage.

In just 60 uproarious minutes, Kingsley invites you on a hilarious journey through the everyday absurdities we all know and love. Seamlessly weaving between uproarious original songs and classic stand-up comedy, “Get It Together” is a delightful exploration of life’s quirks and quibbles. From the mundane to the downright bizarre, Kingsley’s observational humour captures the essence of our shared experiences with a gentle touch that’s never too political or aggressive.

Praised as “a funny, imaginative night of musical comedy… reminiscent of early Tim Minchin” by Theatre Travels, this show is a must-see for comedy aficionados and music lovers alike. Whether he’s serenading you with a catchy tune about the perils of train travel or sharing anecdotes that hit close to home, Kingsley’s charm and comedic prowess will leave you grinning from ear to ear.

Don’t miss your chance to laugh, sing along, and rediscover the joy in life’s everyday absurdities with “Get It Together”. Book your tickets now and join us for an unforgettable evening of laughter and music!

Also appearing: Imogen Whittaker

A collection of original music and anecdotes, Imogen Whittaker’s The Last Word captures the heartfelt, comedic and infuriating ways relationships can start and end.

A reflection of Imogen’s mid-20s, and drawing musical influences from Gillian Cosgriff, Missy Higgins and Sara Bareilles, this cabaret is the perfect opportunity for Imogen to say (and sing) everything she’s wanted to, without giving anyone the right of reply.

Following a critical and commercially successful Melbourne debut season, this cabaret is for anyone who’s ever really, really, really wanted to have the last word.
