Koi Kingdom

The Ian Potter Centre for Performing Arts

$15 - $30

Founded in 2016, Koi Kingdom shares a commitment to co-composing and performing original music that reflects their multifaceted backgrounds and identities as multicultural Australian artists.

As established composers, improvisers, and bandleaders, each member brings a distinct voice to the group’s bold, genre-defying sound.

Their latest album was a collaboratively written, concept driven album, structured around a narrative based in the Koi world, or rather, ‘Koi Kingdom’ and was awarded the 2025 APRA/AMCOS Art Music Award for Work of the Year (Jazz).

“I cannot speak too highly of the distinctive musical vision in operation here… I have rarely heard a trio which maximises so effectively the possibilities inherent in the three instruments available to them.”
– Five‑star review, Eric Meyers, The Australian
