For his premiere show at The Count’s Paul Van Ross revisits his cuban-inspired album “Mi Alma Cuba”

A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, Paul Van Ross is a woodwind specialist, composer and band leader.

For his premiere show at The Count’s Paul Van Ross revisits his album “Mi Alma Cuba” which was recorded at the famous Egrem studios, used by Buena Vista Social Club in Havana, Cuba. The album saw Paul collaborate with some of Cuba’s greatest musicians from bands such as Los Van Van, Maraca and Chucho Valdes.

Paul studied in New York with some of the world’s leading teachers and musicians, including Ari Hoenig, George Garzone, George Coleman, Barry Harris, Seamus Blake, Itai Kriss and many more. His performances display rhythmic prowess and bare influences from many genres of music. With his ensemble Clave Mania, expect a highly energetic performance of original compositions encompassing the styles of Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Son and Danson.
