Renee Geyer

Renée Geyer’s impressive career has spanned four decades and is still going strong. A precocious jazz, blues and soul singer in her late teens; Countdown royalty in her 20s; a string of pop, soul and reggae hits spanning the 70s and 80s; her LA years in the studio with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Sting, Joe Cocker and Chaka Kahn; her 90s renaissance with Paul Kelly. Renee is a singer, a songwriter, producer, and author that has been inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame, and The Age Music Victoria Hall of Fame, both proud occasions in which she joined the ranks of Australia’s most respected and accomplished musicians.

Renée Geyer started life as a sassy blues belter. Now she is the consummate entertainer with a proud body of work still transfixing audiences with the power of her music and voice.

Vocalist Joshua Tavares is a lifelong Collingwood resident, personality and passionate community advocate. By day he works at the Collingwood Neighbourhood House and is the brains behind popular community event the Collingwood Underground Roller Disco. Joshua is driven by a passion to create change in his local community by hosting positive events and activities that empower and inspire those around him.

By night Joshua is a singer in high demand and key part of Melbourne’s soul music scene. A core member of beloved bands including Gospel Sundays, Le Soul and many more, Joshua performs with a charismatic flair, bringing a unique sense of fun to each and every performance.

Special guest – Jess Mahler Trio

Jess Mahler is a versatile contemporary jazz saxophonist based out of Melbourne, Victoria. Originally from the North Coast of NSW, Jess moved to Melbourne in 2017 to study a Contemporary Bachelor of Music at Victoria University and has just completed her Jazz Performance Bachelor Degree of Music at Monash University. Jess is vastly experienced both in ensemble work and band leading, playing all over Australia at venues and festivals like The Palais Theatre, Cooly Rocks On, Evans Head Music Festival, The Byron Bay Rails, and has played alongside Australian legends like Martha Baartz and Helen Svoboda.
