$15 - $30
Returning to the Count’s after his sold out show in 2025, iconic Australian saxophonist and singer Wilbur Wilde celebrates more than 50 years in music.
Wilbur Wilde has performed with some of the biggest names in music including Skyhooks, Elvis Costello, Tom Jones, Split Enz, Roy Orbison, Cold Chisel, Dire Straits, The Angels, Dragon and James Reyne.
Perhaps though, he is most known for his tenure as resident saxophone player on the widely popular television show Hey Hey it’s Saturday for 16 years. He has also appeared in films such as The Coolangatta Gold, Jenny Kissed Me, Dead End Drive-In and Mad Max.
His own project, Wilbur Wilde Blowout, was born on Valentine’s Day 1984. Their repertoire features compositions by Billy Harper, John Coltrane, and the master of jazz vocalese, Eddie Jefferson. For their Count’s show Wilbur has invited along his favourite Blowout members including Rebecca Barnard (vox), Craig Newman (bass), Mark Fitzgibbon (piano) and David Hicks (drums).
