Step into the sonic landscape of film with the Monash Academy Orchestra.

Lose yourself in the soundworld of cinema as Erkki Veltheim leads the Monash Academy Orchestra through some of the most evocative film music ever written. From the unmistakable lyricism of Nino Rota and the sweeping emotional power of Ennio Morricone, to the psychological intensity of Bernard Herrmann’s Vertigo, this concert celebrates the composers who shaped the way we feel on screen.

Alongside these classics, the orchestra brings a contemporary edge with striking works by Jed Kurzel, Burkhard Dallwitz, Anna Liebzeit and Paul Grabowsky – fresh, compelling scores that prove music for film is as bold and inventive as ever.

This is a rare chance to hear these masterpieces performed live, with all the colour, nuance, tension, tenderness and power that a live orchestra can deliver. From golden‑age masterpieces to fresh cinematic visions – music that tells every story.
